Keynote Speaker
Ed Malecki, Professor of Geography, The Ohio State University: Ed Malecki, internationally renowned researcher, will address the keynote speach and open the conference. His research interest are urban, rural and regional economic development, technological change, regional policy, research and development, technology policy, telecommunications, corporate location and behavior.
He is currently Associate Editor of Entrepreneurship and Regional Development and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Annals of the Association of American Geographers, Economic Geography, Geogafiska Annaler, Series B, Human Geography, Growth and Change, Regional Studies, International Regional Science Review, and the Review of Regional Studies. He also is a member of the Board of Editors of the Center for Urban Policy Research Press. He previously served terms on the editorial boards of Environment and Planning A, The Professional Geographer, Tijdschrift voor Economische en Sociale Geografie, and Texas Business Review.
Closing Lecture
Leo-Paul Dana, Professor at the university of Canterbury, Nea Zealand, internationally renowned specialist in the field of entrepreneurship, will not only serve as Chairman for the doctoral consortium and the review process of the IJESB special issue, but also read the closing lecture of the conference, analyzing new trends & outlooks based upon the IECER 2007.
He has an extensive research background studying entrepreneurship in different cultures and is the author of a number of books and articles on the subject. He is the founder of the Journal of International Entrepreneurship and Senior Advisor to the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises. He was formerly Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at INSEAD, and has been Visiting Professor at several business schools across Europe, including the ICN Graduate School of Business, in Nancy, and the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises, at Université Robert Schuman, in Strasbourg.
